March 9, The Burnished Raven will host a Spring Equinox Market with regional vendors
Bloomington, Indiana – On March 9 from noon to 8 p.m., the Monroe Convention Center will play host to a Spring Equinox Market organized by The Burnished Raven, a metaphysical retail boutique located in Bloomington.
The goal of the market is to benefit the Pagan and Wiccan groups in Bloomington as well as the people who observe Ostara, the Spring Equinox. March 19 is the spring equinox, which marks the start of the spring season and the point at which day and night are equal in length.
The BBC claims that the Pagan faith is made up of a wide range of ideas influenced by ancient indigenous religions and a respect for the natural world. One religion that is included in the Pagan community of beliefs is Wicca. It alludes to the religious practice of witchcraft, albeit not all forms of Pagan witchcraft are Wiccan. Wicca also honors the divine and worships gods and goddesses.
The Burnished Raven, a metaphysical store in downtown Bloomington that sells handcrafted Pagan and Wiccan goods, and ritual supplies, and provides a gathering place for the community’s believers, is named after a theory about the essential basis of reality.
In addition, the event hopes to inspire guests to take up gardening, welcome plants into their homes, and sow the seeds of prosperity for the remainder of the year.
Although admission to the Spring Equinox Market is free, donations are welcome; half of them will benefit The Burnished Raven’s shrine and the other will go to the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter. The public is welcome to view and utilize the Burnished Raven’s altar, which is housed in its store, whenever they like. Workers at The Burnished Raven claim that the company collaborates with a different Bloomington-area community outreach group every three months.
Local vendors and artisans such as Silvered Moon Crystals, Merlin’s Attic, and Mood Aesthetics will be present at the market. All vendor places were taken, as stated in a Facebook post by The Burnished Raven.
From 1 to 5 p.m., Planted Bloomington will also be present at the event, selling plant-based meals from their food truck that can be purchased.
