17-year-old detained for robbery that resulted in the shooting of a 14-year-old accomplice

Indianapolis, Indiana – In connection with a heist that resulted in the shooting of his 14-year-old companion, a 17-year-old kid was detained, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
The 14-year-old’s condition was last reported to be stable.
Police were called to the 3400 block of Beeler Avenue at midnight on Saturday after receiving a report of a shooting. Officers discovered a 14-year-old adolescent who had been shot when they arrived.
On the northwest side, Beeler Avenue is located in a residential neighborhood of West 34th Street.
Officers said they suspect the 14-year-old and the 17-year-old were attempting to rob someone at gunpoint during their investigation. The gun was contested, and the 14-year-old was shot as a result.
Three blocks from Beeler Avenue, in the vicinity of the 3400 block of Ashley Lane, according to the police, robbery and shooting first took place.
The 17-year-old was later detained by detectives for his involvement in the shooting. Robbery is the initial charge against him.
The young people’s names have not been made public.
