Young person killed in a shooting in Fort Wayne
Fort Wayne, Indiana – The Fort Wayne Police Department reports that a young person was killed in a shooting that happened in Fort Wayne on Saturday night.
Officers from the Fort Wayne Police Department were called to the 2900 block of Shawnee Drive at 7:51 p.m. on Saturday in response to a complaint of a shooting with a minor victim. Officers found the victim inside a house suffering from gunshot wounds when they got there. Officers, paramedics, and firefighters attended to the victim. The man was taken to a nearby hospital while in critical condition at the site.
The hospital declared the person deceased.
The Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office are still looking into the event.
