1M Hoosiers Have Received At Least 1 COVID-19 Vaccine Shot
Indiana has provided the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines to more than 1 million Hoosiers, in just more than two months – with nearly 570,000 Hoosiers fully vaccinated.
Indiana remains on par with its Midwest neighbors. Nearly 15% of Hoosiers have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose compared to 15.9% in Kentucky, 14.4% in Ohio, and 14% in Michigan.
Here’s how vaccine progress breaks down: 69% of Hoosiers 80 and older have gotten at least their first dose; 70% of Hoosiers in their 70s have received theirs; and about half of Hoosiers in their 60s have gotten their initial dose.
The Indiana Department of Health reported just 555 new COVID-19 cases and 20 additional deaths Monday. That’s the lowest number of new reported cases since last June.
Monday’s numbers bring the statewide total cases to 662,213 and deaths to 12,162.
The statewide seven-day all-test positivity rate remains at 3.8%.
In Monroe County, IDOH reports six new cases and zero new deaths, bringing the county’s total cases to 10,333 and the death count to 161.
Monroe County’s seven-day all-test positivity rate remains at 0.7%.
