Due to a shoulder injury, Indiana Pacers player Bennedict Mathurin will miss the remainder of the 2023–24 season
Indianapolis, Indiana – Due to a shoulder injury, Indiana Pacers guard Bennedict Mathurin will miss the rest of the 2023–24 campaign.
A Pacers news release states that Mathurin’s right shoulder was diagnosed with a ruptured labrum on Saturday. The Pacers stated that surgery would be necessary to heal the injury.
According to a release, Mahturin will have surgery in Los Angeles next week, done by Dr. Neal ElAttrache.
ElAttrache has reportedly operated on several well-known sportsmen, including Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets, Zack Greinke of Major League Baseball, and Kobe Bryant, the hall of fame of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Basketball.
Before the 2024–25 season, Mathurin is anticipated to fully recover, according to the Pacers.
This season, Mathurin has averaged 14.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game.
This season, the 210-pound, 6-foot-5 player has represented Indiana in 59 games.
