16 cops are promoted during the IMPD event
Indianapolis, Indiana – On Friday, sixteen police officers from Indianapolis received new badges at a promotion ceremony.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has announced that they will take on supervisory responsibilities.
Today serves as a reminder to all officers of the potential consequences, according to IMPD Chief Chris Bailey.
“That this job as a supervisor, as a leader in our agency is not easy. You are no longer patrol officers. You are no longer sergeants. The expectations are higher. You don’t get to complain about the things that you used to complain about, your job is to solve those problems.”
According to Democratic Mayor Joe Hogsett, the officers’ group represents the attempt to have the Indianapolis Police Department actively reflect the city’s population.
