4 shot, 1 killed in 2 overnight shootings
Indianapolis, Indiana – Following the discovery of a woman who had been shot to death and the injuries sustained by two men and one woman early on Sunday morning, police are looking into two nocturnal shootings.
On the east side of Indianapolis, close to the intersection of Michigan Street and Rural Street, the Rural Inn is where the initial incident, according to police, occurred just before 2 a.m.
Police discovered a woman with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound on a sidewalk. Quickly arriving medical personnel declared the woman dead at the site.
At this moment, the police have not disclosed any suspect or more information.
An hour later, officers were summoned to a home on the southeast side of Indianapolis in the 1100 block of Maynard Drive.
Inside a home’s garage, investigators found three people – two men and a woman – who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
While the third victim’s status wasn’t initially known to authorities, two of the victims were taken in critical condition to local hospitals.
All three patients are in stable condition, according to IMPD’s statement later on Sunday morning.
The victims were reportedly sitting in the garage when two masked men carrying handguns and a rifle barged in and started shooting.
Police are currently conducting an active search after the suspects fled the site.
No background information on the shooting or any suspect details were made public by the police.
