Following reports of gunfire at a movie theater in Jeffersonville, two teenagers detained
Jeffersonville, Indiana – Police said there was a “theatre disturbance” early Sunday at a movie theater, after a report of a shooting in the parking lot.
Detective Josh Schiller with the Jeffersonville Police Department said officers were called to Xscape Theatres Jeffersonville 12 just after 12:30 a.m. on Sunday on reports of shots fired in the front parking lot.
When police arrived at the theater, a description from witnesses led them to arrest two juveniles. Schiller said no one was injured, and no property was damaged when police arrived.
Schiller thanked off-duty officers who responded to the movie theater and “were important in the safe conclusion.”
Witnesses were also able to identify the car that was involved. For a traffic stop, Clarksville Police discovered the car close to East 10th Street. The children in the automobile, according to the police, were shot victims.
According to Schiller, police rapidly secured the movie theater, and patrons quickly vacated the area. All other movies had already come to an end, leaving only one to be seen.
The Clark County Juvenile Detention Center was the destination after the two minors were taken into custody. The names of the individuals involved won’t be disclosed because they are minors.
Jeffersonville Police Department’s Detective Division is investigating. Anyone with information is invited to contact The Jeffersonville Police Department at (812) 285-6535 or their dispatch at (812) 283-6633. You can also email Detective Schiller at [email protected].
