Silver Alert for a man reported missing off northeastern Indiana canceled by authorities
Bluffton, Indiana – The Statewide Silver Alert that was issued for a man who was reported missing off northeastern Indiana has now been canceled since the man has been located safe.
The 21-year-old man was reported missing on Wednesday. That was the last time anyone saw or heard from him.
The Bluffton Police Department was investigating the disappearance of Jake Steffen, a 21-year-old black male, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing an orange plaid coat with a black hood, a red T-shirt, dark jeans, black shoes, and black gloves.
Bluffton police believed Steffen might be in danger or in need of immediate medical attention. Therefore, they were forced to issue a Silver Alert. Silver Alerts are issued for adults or children who are reported missing and are believed to be in danger, as it was in this case.
Bluffton police are informing the public that the Silver Alert for Steffen was canceled as he was fortunately found safe.
