2 teenagers died following smart car accident on Tipton County road
Tipton County, Indiana – In an automobile accident in Tipton County, two adolescents from Central Indiana perished.
According to county coroner Bob Nichols, Tipton County Sheriff’s officers were summoned at 2:05 a.m. on Sunday to the intersection of State Road 19 and Division Road for a single-vehicle auto accident.
Officers arrived at the crossroads to discover a smart vehicle rolling on the road with two passengers ejected. The two were later identified as:
• Connor Gavin Petro, 18, of Sheridan
• Adam Michael Gordon Johnson, 17, of Kokomo
Johnson and Petro were both declared dead at the scene.
According to Coroner Nichols, Petro, the car’s driver, is thought by authorities to have lost control of the vehicle. The victims were thrown out of the vehicle as a result of the compact car rolling “many times” on the road.
The collision didn’t involve any other cars. Nichols and the Cicero Township Volunteer Fire Department both provided assistance to the Tipton County Sheriff’s Department, which is in charge of the crash investigation, on the scene.
