Slim Chickens, a fast-casual restaurant, will launch its first location in Indiana
West Lafayette, Indiana – For the first time ever, a fast-casual chicken company with roots in Arkansas is expanding to Indiana.
The first Indiana site of Slim Chickens will open on Monday, February 6 in West Lafayette at 2901 Northwestern Avenue, close to the Purdue University campus.
What’s on the menu, then? Along with chicken and waffles, fried chicken sandwiches, wraps, salads, tenders, and wings, the restaurant also serves 17 house-made sauces. Fries, coleslaw, potato salad, fried pickles, okra, and mushrooms are among the sides offered.
“We are looking forward to bringing a sense of southern hospitality to the students at Purdue University. We plan on staying open until midnight to ensure that students can use the space and enjoy fresh, quality food after a long day,” said Renee Boiling with Slim Chickens.
According to the firm, its chicken tenders are “hand-breaded, buttermilk-marinated, and always cooked fresh to order.”
Although this is the first Slim Chickens site in Indiana, franchise owner Al Cabrera inked a 71-unit agreement to open more shops in Indiana, Illinois, and Florida.
“Our freshly made southern dishes and homemade recipes create loyal guests who feel good about the food they’re eating and we’re proud to be able to grow our loyal fan base into the West Lafayette market,” said Slim Chickens Chief Operating Officer Sam Rothschild.
In 2003, Slim Chickens was established in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Since then, it has expanded to more than 200 locations throughout 32 states. Over the following ten years, it intends to grow to over 600 eateries.
