Man is arrested on the city’s east side after fatally killing his brother
Indianapolis, Indiana – An individual suspected of fatally stabbing his brother over the weekend has been detained by Indianapolis police.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced in a release on Friday that Enrique Hernandez, 24, had been detained on Thursday for the murder of Juan Parada, 30.
Around 10 a.m. on Sunday, IMPD officers were alerted to a probable shooting in the 11000 block of Whistler Drive. That’s a neighborhood close to North Cumberland Road and East 21st Street.
When the police came, they discovered Parada bleeding from at least one stabbing. He wasn’t going to make it after being brought to the hospital in critical condition.
According to the IMPD, homicide investigators launched an investigation and identified Hernandez as a probable suspect. On Thursday, he underwent questioning at the IMPD Homicide office before being taken into custody.
After reviewing the case, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will decide whether to file charges.
Anyone with information is urged to email or phone the IMPD Homicide Office at 317-327-3475 to speak with Detective Christopher Edwards.
