E-learning at Greenwood High School following midnight vandalism
Greenwood, Indiana – Following an overnight incident of vandalism, students at Greenwood High School were given an e-learning day on Tuesday, March 7.
James Ison, the chief of police of Greenwood, “kids broke in overnight and discharged a bunch of fire extinguishers.”
A statement sent out to families said, “All Greenwood High School staff and students will remain home today and practice e-learning while cleanup and repairs are being made. At this time, after-school activities and practices will still take place.”
The extinguishers were activated in a hallway, according to the superintendent of the district.
The extent of the building’s destruction is unknown, but the school will cooperate with the fire department to clean it up.
The remaining schools in the Greenwood Community School Corp. will run normally. On Wednesday, Greenwood High School is anticipated to be open.
Anybody with information is urged to contact the Greenwood Police Department at 317-882-9191, according to officials.
