19-year-old Lawrence resident dies in an automobile accident while evading police
Lawrence, Indiana – A 19-year-old lost his life after colliding with his car as he ran from the cops.
Around 8 o’clock on Sunday night, an officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Shadeland Avenue and Pendleton Pike, according to the Lawrence Police Department.
The vehicle sped away from the scene, according to authorities. The car rolled over and struck a telephone pole near East 46th Street and Shadeland Avenue because the driver lost control of the wheel.
At the scene, the driver was declared deceased. Alex May Jr., a 19-year-old, was identified by the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
The vehicle’s license plate, according to the investigators, was registered incorrectly.
Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
