Walmart’s food license suspended on Pendleton Pike due to indications of “significant rodent activity”
Lawrence, Indiana – Following the suspension of its food license due to rodent evidence, Marion County health officials will investigate a Walmart on the northeast side on Friday.
Inspectors visited the Walmart at 10735 Pendleton Pike on Wednesday in response to a customer complaint, claims the Marion County Public Health Department.
In various locations across the business, inspectors discovered “extensive rodent activity,” including rodent droppings and ripped packaging. Pet food, the supermarket section, and the receiving room were among the locations impacted.
Following the inspection, the health department issued a penalty and suspended the store’s food license. Moreover, a $500 fine was given.
According to the health department, the food license won’t be reinstated until “rodents/evidence of rodents are eliminated, and the violations are corrected.”
