Abandoned vehicle at DFW Airport linked to missing disabled Texas boy
Authorities in Texas are searching for six-year-old Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, a boy with severe developmental and physical disabilities, who is missing.
The case has been turned into an Endangered Missing Persons Alert, and police have obtained an arrest warrant for the boy’s mother, Cindy Rodriguez-Singh, for allegedly giving a false report about a missing person.
Vehicle belonging to Noel’s family was found abandoned at DFW Airport, and his mother, stepfather, and six other siblings have boarded an international flight to Istanbul, leaving authorities concerned about the safety of the disabled boy. Despite multiple attempts by Child Protective Investigations (CPI) to locate Noel, it was discovered that Cindy Rodriguez-Singh’s story about Noel’s whereabouts was not true. Moreover, her prior investigations and actions with CPI have furthered concerns about her intentions in avoiding authorities.
“(Noel) has a requirement to be on oxygen at certain points in time, and we don’t know if he’s getting that,” said Everman Police Chief Craig Spencer. The police have been working with the Texas Rangers and FBI to locate Noel, but the family’s final destination remains unknown.
The case has caught the attention of the public, with many showing their concern for Noel’s safety. Jeremiah Childers, who lives two doors down from the family, said, “I have seen the child that they’re looking for. I had seen her and the children out before you wouldn’t think anything was really wrong with the situation.” Police are seeking the public’s help in locating Noel and ensuring his safety.
The case has left authorities baffled, with Spencer stating, “This is one of the strangest cases that I have ever worked. Our sole mission here is just to try to make sure that that child’s OK.” With Noel’s physical and developmental challenges, it is imperative to locate him and ensure that he is receiving the proper care he requires.
