I-65 in Clinton County will temporarily be shut down
Clinton County, Indiana – On Monday, there will be a brief halt for traffic on I-65.
I-65 will be closed near County Road 500 S by the Indiana Department of Transportation so that emergency personnel may restore power to locals who lost it during the Friday night storms.
Since late Friday, several residents have been without electricity.
17 tornadoes were verified statewide in the storms on Friday night.
The brief closure is anticipated to begin at about 10 a.m. and remain for at least 20 minutes, according to INDOT.
To restore power, workers will move a power line across the freeway. Personnel from INDOT and the Indiana State Police will be on-site to help with traffic control.
If traveling there, drivers should plan on experiencing delays. If possible, INDOT advises drivers to look for alternative routes.
