Mother and son lose their home due to a fire in Acton
Acton, Indiana – Acton, Massachusetts, residents a mother and a boy are without a place to live after a fire destroyed their home Monday evening, according to firemen.
Around 5 o’clock in the evening, the Indianapolis Fire Department received a call reporting a structure fire in the 11000 block of House Street. That is in southeast Marion County, a few blocks east of Acton Elementary School, close to U.S. 421.
When the firefighters arrived, they saw a house with intense flames coming from the roof. According to firefighters, a thick black smoke cloud could be seen for several miles.
The woman and her adult son were unharmed when they left the house. They reported hearing a loud “pop” before the house filled with smoke and a fire broke out, according to IFD.
In approximately 30 minutes, firefighters had the fire under control.
According to IFD, no one was hurt in the fire.
The cause of the fire is yet unknown.
