Multiple people die in a violent weekend in Indianapolis
Indianapolis, Indiana – Another tumultuous weekend has passed in Indianapolis. Police have reacted to several shootings and two fatal wrecks in the recent 36 hours, which resulted in seven fatalities and four injuries.
The terrible weekend started early on Saturday. According to police, the first incident happened soon after midnight on the city’s east side at East 21st Street and Central Avenue. When the police came, they discovered a man and a woman who appeared to have been shot. At the scene, both were declared dead.
The following fatal incident took place in the 7800 block of Red Mill Drive on Indy’s east side at roughly 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Two males, one an adult and one a child, were discovered by the police with gunshot wounds. The second male was declared dead while the youngster was sent to a local hospital in critical condition. A local hospital later declared the young person deceased. According to police, there may have been a disturbance before the shooting.
Deathly conflict persisted into Saturday night.
Police responded to a walk-in person shooting incident at IU Health Methodist Hospital at about 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. Two victims with gunshot wounds were discovered by police. Both are thought to be in stable health. According to investigators, the first incident took place in the 3700 block of Ruskin Place.
Police were called to a fatal collision in the 4000 block of South East Street just before 10:30 o’clock. Officers arrived on the site and found one person. At the scene, the person was pronounced dead. Police think a motorcycle and another car were both involved in the collision.
Police were called to what they believe to be a fatal hit-and-run event on Indianapolis’ northwest side an hour later. A person was struck in the 4900 block of North High School Road, according to IMPD. Officers discovered a man lying in the road when they arrived. At the scene, he was identified as deceased.
Additionally, several shootings that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning resulted in one fatality and two injuries.
Police were called to reports of a person shot just before midnight on Sunday in the city’s west side, about 10 miles north of the airport. This occurred at the intersection of North Lynhurst Drive and Rockville Road. Officers arrived on the scene and discovered a man with critical wounds. The patient’s condition is critical.
Police were called to a fatal incident on the 1200 block of East Raymond Street on the Near South Side at around the same time. Officers discovered a man with gunshot wounds there. At the scene, he was identified as deceased.
Around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, the final incident took place in Broad Ripple Village, specifically at Guilford and Broad Ripple Avenue. Officers arrived on the site and discovered one victim with a gunshot wound. The victim is thought to be in stable condition and was conscious.
