Speedway, Indiana – Following reports of mice in the shop, Marion County health regulators on Friday approved the Speedway Kroger’s request to reopen its bakery and deli.

After receiving reports of rodent activity, the supermarket’s bakery, deli, and three aisles were shuttered, according to a statement released by the Marion County Public Health Department on Sunday. Health inspectors noted that the initial complaint, which was made on April 13, claimed that mice had been spotted scurrying around store aisles and were present near the self-checkout area.

Mice droppings were discovered after an inspection, including on shelves in the bakery, in the aisles with the chips and bread, and on shelves with household goods.

On Thursday, the aisles were permitted to reopen.

The store made considerable sanitary upgrades and structural modifications, according to Curt Brantingham, a spokeswoman for the health department, to allay the worries.
