After shooting bullets inside the Fort Wayne Kroger, the suspect is in custody

Fort Wayne, Indiana – Following reports that he fired bullets inside a Kroger in Fort Wayne on Thursday night, a suspect has been taken into custody by the police.

There were several reports of a guy shooting inside a Kroger located at 6310 E. State Blvd. at 6:14 p.m., and officers from the Fort Wayne Police Department and several other police agencies arrived to the scene together. It was discovered by the officers that the suspect had fled the scene of the crime.

The store was searched by law enforcement personnel, according to a press statement, in order to identify potential victims and suspects in connection with the incident. However, multiple shell casings were discovered inside, despite the fact that there were no reported injuries.

Officers were informed by witnesses that a male who matched the description of the shooter was still around in the vicinity. It was later determined that he was Richard Klaff Jr., who was twenty years old.

At 6:40 p.m., Klaff was taken into custody without any incident, and he was charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of criminal negligence with a deadly weapon. The Allen County Jail was the location where he was being kept on Friday morning.
