After shots were fired into their south side house, an Indianapolis couple is in fear

Indianapolis, Indiana – On Friday morning last week, Debra David was in her bedroom when a barrage of gunshots slammed into her house.

“All of a sudden I heard glass breaking. It was breaking all around me. I knew they were shooting at me,” David said.

James Hamilton, her boyfriend, and she think they were the victims of a drive-by gunshot. On the exterior of their East Caven Street home and on Hamilton’s truck, which was parked outside the house, there are gunshot holes visible one week after the incident.

Hamilton said, “It hit the wall, and I found the bullet that I showed you. I found it in the bed.”

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, no suspects have been located in the case.

The couple is unsure of the motivation behind anyone’s desire to harm them. Hamilton surmises that the shooting might have been provoked by something he complained about on social media regarding a couple sitting in a car close to his house.

“I think they were having sex,” Hamilton stated. I observed him transferring his AR-15 from his front seat to his back seat while they were there for about two hours.

David and Hamilton said that while burglars took items from their home in the past, it was never this bad.

David said, “I just came from my doctor’s office because I got anxiety. Something drops in the house, and I just immediately jumped out of my skin.”
