Almost $1 million is raised during J.D. Vance’s visit to Fort Wayne

Fort Wayne, Indiana – One of the first stops on his campaign route, U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance visited Fort Wayne on Wednesday, just days after being selected as the Republican contender for vice president.
A small number of donors and supporters attended the private celebration at the Fort Wayne International Airport.
Longtime GOP supporter and event planner Bill Bean said he thinks Vance’s visit brought in close to $1 million for his campaign.
“Back in June, I was approached by the [Donald Trump] campaign and asked if we would be interested in hosting one of the first campaign events — of course, I jumped on the opportunity — but we couldn’t do much planning until we knew who it was,” Bean said.
Bean thought the event went well and provided an excellent platform for Vance’s background and opinions despite the short notice.
Although the fundraiser’s tickets cost anything from $1,000 for an individual to $50,000 for a pair, Kevin Hunter, one of the attendees, claimed it was well worth the money.
“It was amazing. So much excitement. For me to be able to see a fellow Middletown, Ohio, man that grew up in that area like my wife and I did, it was great to see him,” Hunter said.
The fact that Vance chose to make Fort Wayne one of his first stops on the campaign trail is noteworthy, according to Steve Shine, chairman of the Allen County Republican Party.
“Right out of the gate out of the Republican convention in Milwaukee last week, J.D. Vance committed to coming to Fort Wayne because he knows that Fort Wayne is a very loyal, Republican base and there’s a lot of support here for [him] and President Trump,” Shine said.
Glendale, Arizona, is one of Vance’s upcoming campaign stop locations.
