Attorneys request that the court authorize more charges against the suspect in the Delphi murder
Indianapolis, Indiana – On Thursday, the prosecution in the Delphi murder case requested that the judge grant further charges against Richard Allen, the main suspect.
Prosecutors amended the accusations in court filings, requesting permission for two further counts of murder while abduction and two counts of kidnapping.
These are on top of the two current murder charges that Allen is facing for the February 13, 2017, killings of Abby Williams and Libby German in a wooded area close to the Monon High Bridge in Delphi.
Prosecutors requested the extra charges, according to court filings, because they “more accurately align” the charging material with the probable cause affidavit and discoveries.
The amended file was submitted after prosecutors and Allen’s legal representatives debated Thursday morning at the Indiana Supreme Court, with the goal of either retaining Allen’s original legal team or eliminating Special Judge Frances Gull from the case.
