Big Brothers Big Sisters aims for ‘500 Bigs by the Indy 500’
Indianapolis, Indiana – The race is on to find even more “Bigs” before May 28. Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Indiana has achieved their objective to find 500 mentors by the Indy 500.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a partner in the “500 Bigs by the Indy 500” program.
At least 500 new Bigs have volunteered to support kids in Indiana since the campaign’s launch in March. However, according to the group, about 1,000 young people still need a Big Brother or Big Sister.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana claims that every year, they assist more than 1,280 children in Hamilton, Johnson, and Marion Counties, ranging in age from eight to 18 years old. They collaborate with local donors, volunteers, schools, and parents/caregivers to “defend, ignite, and empower the potential of every child we serve.”
According to the organization, its goal is to develop and promote one-on-one mentoring relationships that ignite youth’s potential and power. “Our vision is for every young person to reach their full potential.”
