Brownsburg man arrested for attempted murder of woman in Bloomington
Bloomington, Indiana – Police in Bloomington have arrested a man after a woman was found stabbed.
Police have arrested 18-year-old Kiandre Owens of Brownsburg in the case.
Police say the 18-year-old victim was found covered in blood on a sidewalk by a passerby just before 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday. She was found in the 1100 block of West 11th Street.
Police say the victim had a “deep cut” to both her throat and abdomen, along with multiple knife wounds to her head.
She was rushed to a hospital for an emergency surgery. Police spoke to the victim on her way to surgery and Owens was identified as a suspect.
Owens checked himself into the same hospital for a knife wound to his hand around 11:15 p.m. After the wound was treated, he was taken by police for an interview, then subsequently arrested and transported to the Monroe County Jail.
He faces a preliminary charge of attempted murder.
