Indianapolis, Indiana – Central Indiana is home to WalletHub’s Best Small City in America, despite the fact that nearly one-third of Americans claim to prefer the suburban lifestyle.
The list of the top small cities in the country for 2023 was just announced by personal finance website WalletHub. Their researchers, accounting for a number of parameters, analyzed over 1,300 American communities with a population of 25,000–100,000 people.WalletHub looked at five key dimensions:
• Affordability
• Economic Health
• Education and Health
• Quality of Life
• Safety
According to WalletHub, the researchers did not include cities in the surrounding metro area and instead focused solely on the “city proper.”
When all the scores were added up, Carmel emerged as the winner. The city received good rankings for public safety, median household income, and property ownership.
The following cities are also on the list: Brownsburg, Zionsville, Westfield, Fishers, and Noblesville.
