Concerns about trash overflow at the Plainfield residential complex

Plainfield, Indiana – At an apartment complex in Plainfield, piles of trash are piling up and even overflowing, and the residents of the complex are getting fed up with the situation.

“It’s not pleasant to look at,” said Ann Williams who lives at Gladden Farms Apartment Homes in Plainfield.

Upon entering Gladden Farms, you will immediately see that mountains of trash are stacking up before your very eyes. Bags, crates, and even supermarket carts that are stuffed to the brim with trash are included in this category.

“It’s really embarrassing because it’s the first thing you see when you drive into the apartments,” Williams said.

Off-camera, a number of residents of the units expressed their disagreement with the notion that this is a novel issue. Williams, who has been a resident of Gladden Farms for the past three years, is included in this.

“It’s always been an issue ever since we’ve lived here,” she said. “It looks like that regularly.”

Williams, along with other residents of the area, claimed that the accumulation of rubbish is a nuisance. However, that is not the only thing that worries her.

“I just worry it’s probably a health hazard,” she said. “And it doesn’t stay over there. If you walk around, there’s just trash everywhere kind of.”

It was reported by neighbors that the mess tends to continue to accumulate.

“If there’s nowhere to put it or it’s overflowing, people just come by, dump off their trash, and throw it on the pile,” Williams described.

The rubbish was stacked at least three or four full bags high, according to pictures that have been circulating on social media over the past couple of days. Despite the fact that it was not quite as awful on Wednesday, rubbish continued to stream out.

According to Williams, the apartment complex does not have a sufficient number of trash cans.

“There’s only one place in this entire complex where you can throw away trash,” she said.

Over the course of Wednesday, we made repeated calls to the apartment complex. A staffer of the office stated to the reporters that “it is being handled.”

Despite the fact that residents were seen picking up trash on Wednesday when reporters inquired about the exact actions being taken, an employee of the housing complex responded with “nothing” and then hung up the phone.

Despite the fact that neighbors are pleased to see some form of tidying up taking place at the moment, they have expressed that a one-time cleanup is not sufficient.
