Cusick Motorsports names Graham Rahal to replace Stefan Wilson
Indianapolis, Indiana – Driver Stefan Wilson of Dreyer & Reinbold Racing/Cusick Motorsports will be replaced in Sunday’s Indianapolis 500 by Graham Rahal due to injury.
During a severe collision in turn 1 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at 2:11 pm on Monday, Wilson fractured his 12th thoracic vertebrae.
Wilson won’t be able to participate in Sunday’s Indianapolis 500, according to a statement made by Dreyer & Reinbold Racing/Cusick Motorsports on Monday night.
Bobby Rahal, a co-owner of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, is the father of Graham Rahal.
During the final lap of last-chance qualifying on Sunday, his teammate Jack Harvey forced him out of the Indianapolis 500 lineup. “The fact that everyone pulled together to make this happen for Dennis, and also for Graham, makes us very thankful,” Bobby Rahal said in a Twitter statement.
