Deputy from Johnson County hurt in head-on collision with another car

Smith Valley, Indiana – Following a head-on collision early on Sunday morning, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputy and another driver were sent to the hospital.
It was stated that none of their wounds was life-threatening.
Around 2:48 a.m. on Sunday, Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess stated in a release that a sheriff’s officer was attending to a domestic disturbance.
The deputy was traveling north on Morgantown Road, just south of Old Smith Valley Road, when they collided head-on with a car that was traveling south, according to the investigators.
According to police, at the moment of the collision, the other vehicle was left out of the central lane.
The driver and the deputy were sent to separate hospitals for medical attention.
To determine whether alcohol played a role in the collision, police are gathering more information.
