Domestic gunfire leaves husband and wife dead and a teenager wounded in northern Indiana

Wheatfield, Indiana – Following a home shooting in northern Indiana, a husband, and wife are both dead, and a teenage girl is in critical condition.

A residence five miles southwest of Wheatfield is where the shooting took place early on Sunday, according to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were summoned to the residence at around one in the morning due to allegations of a “ongoing rolling domestic disturbance.”

A man from Merrillville is charged with murdering a woman and abusing her corpse sexually.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they apparently heard gunfire instantly. As the deputies entered the house, they discovered Sarah Bukur, 36, and Michael Buker, 43. According to the police, both had gunshot wounds.

Michael was taken to a hospital in severe condition, but Sarah was pronounced dead at the scene. He succumbed to his wounds.

The 17-year-old girl was discovered outside the house, according to the sheriff’s office. According to reports, she was also shot and was taken in severe condition to a hospital.

The juvenile’s name has been suppressed by the sheriff’s office.

Internet documentation indicates that Michael and Sarah were wed in 2021.

“The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those who were injured or killed in this incident,” the sheriff’s department wrote. “It is a difficult and trying time for them, and we hope that they can find the support and comfort they need during this difficult time.”
