Zionsville, Indiana – At its meeting on Monday, the Zionsville Town Council is anticipated to deliberate on a proposal about the permissibility of carrying alcohol in specific areas of the town for both locals and guests.

On Monday, the council will convene at 7:30 a.m. The discussion of an amended law that would designate certain areas of the city as designated outdoor refreshment areas, or DORAs, is on the agenda for the meeting on Monday morning.

This comes after Noblesville, Westfield, Carmel, Bargersville, and Speedway, among other Indiana towns and cities, recently announced the start of their own DORA programs. If it is put into effect in Zionsville, persons will be able to carry open alcohol during designated hours in designated locations.

This ordinance was last addressed by the council on October 7. Council members were prompted to table the law for Monday’s meeting due to discussion and inquiries about it.

One particular company owner has expressed his opinions about the proposed ordinance in a vocal manner. During the meeting on October 7, Marcus White, the proprietor of the Zionsville Public House, stated that even if a business is not in the DORA’s defined region, its insurance costs will probably increase due to this ordinance.

During the discussion, White stated, “We’re the ones that bear the cost.” “The responsibility for management falls on us. The bulk of the responsibility rests with us. Those votes ought to be taken into consideration.
