Driver loses control and strikes a utility pole on the northwest side, killing the passenger
Indianapolis, Indiana – According to authorities, the driver of the car lost control and struck a utility pole on the northwest side of the city on Wednesday morning, killing a passenger.
Just before eight in the morning, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a complaint of a serious physical accident involving a single car that had crashed into a pole at W. 21st Street and Country Club.
According to investigators, the motorist lost control of his car while traveling east and collided with a utility pole. The driver was declared dead after being transferred to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
According to IMPD, it’s unclear whether the passenger’s death was caused by a medical issue or their injuries from the collision.
After notifying the deceased’s proper kin, the Marion County Coroner will ascertain the precise cause of death and reveal the identity of the departed.
As is customary in crash investigations involving fatalities, the driver was brought to Eskenazi Hospital for a blood draw.
