Driver taken to the hospital after hitting a condo on the west side of Indianapolis
Indianapolis, Indiana – A 23-year-old woman was sent to the hospital following an automobile accident on the west side of Indianapolis that included an unoccupied condominium.
At approximately 11:03 a.m. on Friday, firefighters from the Indianapolis Fire Department were called to a condominium complex located at West 34th Street and Lupine Terrace. The calls indicated that a car had collided with a structure.
The Meadowlark Condos are located at that address close to I-465 and North High School Road.
According to IFD, the woman eventually turned off the road and went about 75 feet, passing through a number of bushes, air conditioners, and gas meters before coming to rest against the condo.
The building and the concrete floor sustained substantial damage as a result of the accident. The structure would need to be stored in two locations until building owners could restore it, collapse rescue investigators said.
Additionally, IFD states that they think the woman might have had a medical problem. As of Saturday, there has been no update on her status.
