Faith leaders gather to plant tree on Giving Tuesday
Indianapolis, Indiana – For Giving Tuesday, the Center for Interfaith Cooperation and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful collaborated to plant trees.
The planting took place at North Ritter Avenue’s Lutheran Child and Family Services.
According to the organizers, the event offered a purposeful setting where locals and faith-based communities could interact, think, and decide to plant more trees as a long-term solution.
Jeremy Kranowitz, chief executive officer and president of Keep Indianapolis said, “This is a benefit for all people, all faiths, people of all backgrounds. Our goal is to make the city more environmentally equitable for everyone.”
The tree planting ceremony marked the end of the project season for Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. They claim to have planted more than 3,000 trees in Marion County in 2023.
