Fatal gunshot in an apartment on the east side overnight
Indianapolis, Indiana – Following a fatal shooting at an apartment on the east side, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are conducting an investigation.
According to Capt. Don Weilhammer of the IMPD, there were reports of a shooting at the Reserves at Warren Park Apartments, located in the 9000 block of East 10th Street. When they arrived, they discovered a man in his 20s with gunshot wounds.
At the scene, he was declared dead.
Capt. Weilhammer asserts that despite the fact that the perpetrator is still at large and that the crime appears to have been targeted, the area is not in danger.
He implores everyone who may have knowledge to come forward.
“We would really appreciate if people would give us a call that might have seen this because I find it hard to believe that even though it was at midnight, nobody saw or heard anything,” said Weilhammer.
Call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477) if you have any information regarding this case.
