First Wally’s to open in Indiana

Whitestown, Indiana – In Whitestown, close to the I-65 and Highway 267 exit, Wally’s, a food and gift store with a road trip motif, intends to open its first Indiana facility.
“It’s a 40,000 square foot C store with over 80 pumps, so it’s definitely a great addition to the community,” said Nathan Messer, Deputy Town Manager for Operations.
Wally’s third store countrywide would be there. Its first two establishments were established in Pontiac, Illinois, and Fenton, Missouri.
The business takes pride in its spotless restrooms, delish pastries, and tasty coffee and ice cream.
“All of our food is made fresh in house. Hand-carved BBQ sandwiches at our sandwich house, freshly popped popcorn, a beef jerky bar, hand-tossed pizza,” said Andy Strom, Chief Experience Officer at Wally’s.
Wally’s selected Whitestown in order to expand its presence throughout the Midwest. 150 to 200 jobs are anticipated to be created at the Whitestown facility.
“It’s to support not only the local economy, but a lot of folks on a road trip, going to do something fun, camping for the weekend, in between two cities, and it’s really family-oriented,” said Strom.
Local entrepreneurs are pleased that big firms are choosing Whitestown, including salon owner Rachelle Robinson.
“I think the more the merrier for people, jobs, housing, and it’s great schools,” Robinson said.
Before work can start, a zoning change must be approved by the Whitestown Town Council. In 2024, the store is anticipated to open.
