Friends of Indy man shot and killed offering $10K reward
Indianapolis, Indiana – A reward is currently being offered by the friends and family of a guy who was shot and died on the northwest side last week.
Saad Dine Riha, 32, was shot and killed on Shore Drive over a week ago while enjoying a picnic with some friends. Although the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unknown, friends have now offered a $10,000 prize in the hopes that someone with knowledge will come forward.
“I’m just devastated,” Mohameden Aidelha, a buddy, said. “I’m taken aback. [I’m furious]
According to friends like Aidelha, they’re still processing what happened on Friday. They are now left wondering why anyone would have desired his death.
“This act has shattered us into pieces as a community, especially the Muslim community,” Aidelha declared. “This is definitely not what he deserved.”
About five years ago, Aidelha went to Washington, DC, to meet Riha. Since then, he claimed, the two have remained close friends.
Aidelha remarked, “He was a really good human being.” “[He was] warm-hearted, attractive, industrious, and intelligent. He was also a devoted husband and loving father.”
Prior to being approached by another group on Friday night, Riha and some others reportedly went on a picnic. According to IMPD, shooting broke out at one point.
“When two people on a motorcycle opened fire and killed him, his wife was waiting in the car,” Aidelha added.
According to the police, they are looking for two suspects. It’s unknown if Riha and the suspects were acquainted.
Friends like Aidelha are concerned that it might have been a hate crime, even if authorities are still looking into potential motives. Still, he expressed his optimism that answers will come from a $10,000 incentive.
Aidelha stated, “We hope that everyone in the community helps us find the criminals that conducted this heinous act. He definitely doesn’t deserve this.”
Call the IMPD at 317-262-TIPS, or Crimestoppers if you have any information.
