Gov. Holcomb considers his tenure in office and the people of northeast Indiana

Indianapolis, Indiana – On Tuesday, outgoing Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb shared his reflections on his tenure in office during an interview with WANE 15.
The two-term incumbent is unable to seek another term due to term limits, having first won office in 2016 and successfully secured reelection in 2020.
Holcomb faced significant criticism from a substantial segment of Republicans on his right regarding his approach to various social issues and the management of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While some critics argued that he overstepped by restricting freedoms, he stood by his actions, asserting they were crucial for public health and safety amid an uncertain threat.
In the face of opposition, he secured a second term with an even larger victory than his initial win.
Holcomb has dedicated a significant portion of his tenure to promoting what he perceives as Indiana’s advantages to business executives worldwide. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has reported unprecedented figures in new investments, yet it faces criticism for insufficient transparency, particularly regarding its strategy to provide water to a turn-key development site.
Holcomb has yet to reveal his future career intentions following the conclusion of his term in January.
U.S. Sen. Mike Braun (R) is set to take the oath of office as Indiana’s next governor on January 13, 2025.
