Gun locks handed out at food distribution event

Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indianapolis Urban League added a new item to their drive-through food and meal distribution event on Tuesday as a result to the recent spate of gun violence.
The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) chapter in Indianapolis distributed gun locks.
The president of the Greater Indiana Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) is Cmdr. Ida Williams of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Williams stated, “When you talk about the gun violence that has been affecting our communities across the country and certainly here in Indianapolis, we are concerned. Being able to help put a stop to this gun violence is what it’s all about for police officers, law enforcement, and especially NOBLE members.”
On Tuesday, the group distributed 200 gun locks. Throughout the summer, the organization intends to distribute more gun locks at various local events.
