Hoosier banks Among ‘Best Banks to Work For’

Three Indiana banks are included in American Banker’s 2020 list of the “Best Banks to Work For” in America. The publication ranked 85 banking institutions based their workplace policies, practices and demographics, as well as employee surveys.
Merrillville-based Centier Bank is the highest-ranked Hoosier institution on the list, coming in at No. 11. First Internet Bank in Fishers is ranked at No. 39, followed by Munster-based Peoples Bank at No. 73.
“We are pleased to once again be recognized with this honor,” First Internet Bank President and CEO David Becker said in a news release. “Our entrepreneurial spirit encourages employees to seek new ideas and explore new paths. In a year that has been anything but predictable, that has enabled us to continue to serve our customers and support one another.”
Oakworth Capital Bank in Alabama tops this year’s list, followed by Bell Bank in North Dakota and TIB The Independent Bankers Bank in Texas.
