Howard County Prison investigating inmate death
Howard County, Indiana – At the Howard County Jail, an inmate who had been discovered unresponsive had passed away.
Around 11:40 on Sunday morning, a prisoner named Donald Helton Jr., 64, was discovered to be unconscious. Soon after, medical personnel came and started CPR. By 12:05 PM, Helton Jr.’s death was announced.
The Howard County Coroner’s Office’s publication of autopsy reports on February 27 indicates that no evidence of wrongdoing was discovered.
According to the preliminary findings, Helton died of natural causes, with a heart-related issue as the culprit.
When the findings of the toxicology are available, the official cause of death will be made public. It should take six to eight weeks to complete this.
The situation is still being looked into.
