IMPD to collaborate with the Sikh community to show religious tolerance

Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the Gurdwara Gur Nanak Darbar, and Mayor Joe Hogsett discussed the IMPD’s efforts to recruit people of all backgrounds.
Hogsett and IMPD spoke about the department’s policies and practices during the visit.
A press statement states that on February 5, representatives from IMPD would be present at Gurdwara Gur Nanak Darbar to discuss the application procedure and opportunities for temple members.
“Now offering one of the highest first-year compensations in the Midwest, IMPD is looking to accelerate recruitment efforts that will allow the department to more accurately reflect our
community,” said Mayor Joe Hogsett. “Through direct outreach efforts, we are building a better IMPD – both for officers and for a diverse Indianapolis.”
