In an effort to increase the blood units amid historical low blood supply, American Red Cross to organize several blood drives across Central Indiana

Indiana – Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, the American Red Cross is struggling with blood unit supplies and this has been a real issue in some states. Although the decreasing trend seems to be a national problem, American Red Cross’ efforts to improve the number of blood unit supply in the past few months didn’t provide the wanted results.

Now the American Red Cross in Indiana is planning several events across central Indiana in an effort to improve the current supplies.

According to the data provided by the Red Cross, they provide 40% of the country’s blood supply.

You can schedule an appointment by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Those who donate between Dec. 17-Jan. 2 will get a Red Cross long sleeved t shirt.
