Indiana reported 4,819 Covid-19 cases and 109 deaths
Indiana – The Indiana State Department of Health is reporting 4,819 COVID-19 cases and 109 additional confirmed deaths, bringing Indiana’s total case number to 505,017 and the confirmed death toll to 7,812.
Monroe County’s total COVID-19 case number rose by 49 to 7,938, and the county death toll rose by one to 93. Data provided shows 71,161 Monroe County residents have been tested.
The ISDH says it has administered 5,627,342 tests across the state. That number includes tests run by the state, the Centers For Disease Control And Prevention, and some private laboratories. The number of tests that have returned positive over the past week is 13.7%. The ISDH says the “number of tests is provisional and reflects only those reported to ISDH. Numbers should not be characterized as a comprehensive total.”
As of today, 2,941 patients are hospitalized with the virus.
Wednesday’s numbers show that 30.7% of the state’s 2,150 existing intensive care unit (ICU) beds are currently being used by patients with COVID-19-related illnesses, while 21.7% are still available.
And as of noon Wednesday, 13% of the state’s 2,804 total ventilators are being used by COVID-19 patients, while 68.9% are still available.
