Indianapolis, Indiana – On January 13, 37-year-old Uber driver Christopher Beushausen was shot and died after picking up a passenger in the 2200 block of Windsong Drive.

“The person who booked the ride was not the actual rider,” said Margaret Henderson, Beushausen’s mother.

Police still don’t have a suspect or suspects over 5 months later.

Beushausen served in Iraq for four years as a former Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy, was engaged to be married, and is a father of four.

Before he was killed, he was due to return to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

“A couple days beforehand, I said ‘I really wish you wouldn’t do Uber anymore. Just go work at the jail if you are going to work at the jail.’ ‘Oh, I’m going to do that Monday mom,’ and never made it,” said Henderson.

There has been no information provided, and authorities have no leads as to the location of the culprit or suspects.

“I’d watch this on the news and cry for the parents that had to go through this, and here I am sitting here talking to you guys,” said Henderson.

Henderson wants to spare other parents from going through what she has. She is appealing to anyone with information on Chris’ s slaying, no matter how minor, to come forward.

“He was the son that any mom would be proud of. I was very proud of him. He was a great brother and he was a great dad.”

Henderson attributes the rise in violent crime that killed her son in part to the elimination of the rule requiring Indiana residents who wanted to carry firearms to obtain a permit.
