Ivy Tech is marking its diamond anniversary

Indianapolis, Indiana – On Wednesday, Ivy Tech Community College will commemorate 60 years of operation.
Together with Sue Ellspermann, president of the college system, Courtney Roberts, president of the Ivy Tech Foundation, has promoted growth for the college.
According to Roberts, Ivy Tech has developed a number of initiatives over the past 60 years, including a nursing program expansion, to help the state’s labor market.
“There’s so much that we’re doing across the state that we’ve done over the last 60 years that we’ll continue to do in the future,” Roberts said.
Ivy Tech, according to Roberts, has evolved into a place where women can lead as well as labor. Ivy Tech has a number of female leaders who serve as inspiring role models for its female pupils.
“Ivy Tech is a place for women to come and women to not just work, but to also lead. I’m proud to say that for the first time ever in the college’s history, we are led by a woman. The president of the college is Dr. Sue Ellspermann. Our state board of Trustees is chaired by a woman and the foundation board is chaired by a woman.”
The largest accredited community college in the nation and the largest in Indiana is Ivy Tech. It has an effect on communities all around Indiana and brings in close to $4 billion annually.
