Male shot in head on Indy’s near east side

Indianapolis, Indiana – After a man was shot in the head on Friday night on Indianapolis’ near-east side, police are looking into the incident.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reports that at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers were called to the near northeast corner of Commerce and Brookside Avenue. Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head when they arrived. Police said he was “awake and breathing.”

The individual was allegedly shot at Dubarry Park on East 35th Street, according to the police.

Officers discovered a bag of marijuana at the site, but little is known about what before the shooting.
