Man will spend next 55 years in prison for 2018 murder in Indianapolis
Indianapolis, Indiana – The man who killed Tony Currie in her apartment in 2018 will spend the next 55 years in prison after being convicted on Friday.
According to court reports, Kendall Hart received the sentence on Friday after being convicted last month and found guilty of murder and attempted robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.
The incident took place south of 38th Street and Guion Road in Indianapolis on September 8 2018 when the victim was found dead in his apartment. The 911 call came from a victim’s friend after he hasn’t heard from Currie for a few days.
The investigation showed that Currie gave money to a woman who left the apartment after she received the money. Shortly after, Hart and Justin Smith entered the apartment and shot the victim to death.
Both men were charged with murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury. Smith pleaded guilty last September and he will be sentenced on July 1st at 1 p.m.
