Man’s body found Tuesday at former Player’s Pub property
Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo sent the following press release to the Bloomingtonian Tuesday:
“On May 4th at approximately 10:50 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of S Walnut Street in reference to an unresponsive man. Officers arrived and spoke to a City of Bloomington Utilities employee who stated that he was at the property checking easements when he located an unresponsive man. IU Health Bloomington Hospital Ambulance Service Paramedics checked the man and determined that he was deceased. The Monroe County Coroner’s Office was then requested to respond to the scene.
The deceased man had been located on the northwest corner of the property that was previously occupied by the Player’s Pub. Investigators noted that it appeared as if the man had constructed a small shelter using lumber and scrap metal. There were no obvious signs of trauma or visible injuries to the man. As of the time of this email, I cannot confirm the man’s identity and questions about his identity and cause and manner of death should be directed to the Monroe County Coroner’s Office.”
